Donny Montell to Return to Eurovision!

In true form, Lithuania have once again decided to hold an absolute Eurovision national final marathon, but now, we have a winner! In a total of 10 rounds, there remained one artist, and it’s Donny Montell! You may recognise Donny from his participation in 2012 with Love is Blind.

The final of Eurovizija 2016 featured six artists, all of which had qualified from the rounds previous to the final. The voting was split into a 50/50 of jury and televoters. The jury however, was split into a Lithuanian jury and an international jury. The national jury consisted of Ramūnas Zilnys. Nomeda Kazlaus, Dalia Ibelhauptaitė, Justė Arlauskaitė-Zazzu, Tomas Sinickis and Vaidas Baumila.

The international jury consisted of Peter Freudenthaler, Denis Ingoldsby and Daisy Syron. The jurors expressed their opinions throughout the show, and meanwhile, the televoters were allowed to vote during the whole show.

The full line up was as follows:

  2. Ieva Zasimauskaitė – Life (Not That Beautiful)

  3. Aistė Pilvelytė – You Bet

  4. Erica Jennings – Leading Me Home

  5. Rūta Ščiogolevaitė – United

  6. Donny Montell – I’ve Been Waiting for This Night

With the votes revealed after the performances, it was clear that Donny Montell will be going to Eurovision once again, with the song I’ve Been Waiting For This Night. Donny received the highest votes from both the jury and televoters. Erica Jennings and Rūta Ščiogolevaitė were 2nd and 3rd respectively.
